| Jason Danieley & The Frontier Heroes JD & TFH is rural jazz band band based in New York City. Led by vocalist Jason Danieley, TFH take a look at music styles that are uniquely American and imbue them with a genuine back-porch sound. They are an acoustic band of piano, bass, guitar, banjo, mandolin, tenor guitar, fiddle, and percussion, with a smattering of rich vocal harmonies. The sound is an homage to the family bands of yesterday that entertained themselves in the days before radio. The band was formed as a way to bring a contemporary vitality to music that has been around awhile and to bring an earthier quality to some newer songwriters. The result bridges an old-time sound with a decidedly contemporary pop/country approach. In August 2009, JD & TFH debuted a new concert, ROAD TRIP, with a stringband version of the band. JASON DANIELEY AND THE FRONTIER HEROES, the band's debut album recorded on the PS Classics label, is currently on sale. CLICK HERE to purchase online. Jason Danieley & Marin Mazzie "Opposite You" is Jason and Marin's nationally acclaimed duets concert act. Originally created for the Lincoln Center American Songbook Series, it takes you on a musical journey with "Broadway's golden couple." (San Francisco Chronicle). The concert is a look at the various stages of love, featuring interpretations of well-known standards and new songs by up-and-coming composers. "When they sing, the heart seems to beat a little faster... Emotional strength to envelop the listener and melt the heart... This is one savvy pair." (Variety). OPPOSITE YOU has been recorded on the PS Classics label, and the CD can be purchased HERE. CLICK HERE for reviews. "He Said/She Said" is a new show from Jason and Marin. It's a hot-hearted, cool-headed musical conversation between lovers that spotlights some of the swingin'est composers of the Great American Songbook. It features brand new arrangements of tunes by Fats Waller, Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Sammy Cahn and a whole lot more that will blow the roof off the joint. Be a fly on the wall of this fine romance, debuting in 2011. Check out MarinandJason.com for more information and contact Michael Moore (link above) for booking.
